Well tomorrow our engineers will arrive at the boat around 8:30 and the boilers will be lit for the first operational day (passengers) of the season. As I look ahead into the future I see good as we will finally have income, however I see strain on our crew (especially Pursers). My mission this season is to get more volunteers working within the museum. The #1 position I have to fill is pursers.
Pursers are the folks who throw the lines and sell the tickets on board Minnehaha. They are 1 position out of 3 positions we need in order to operate the Minnehaha. Lets break it down- the Captain drives the thing- the engineer controls speed- the purser makes the landing. As you can see without that 3rd position we would never come home as we would be stuck in the middle of the bay figuring out how to dock the boat. So if you are interested in becoming a volunteer Please please please!!!!!!!!! E-mail me coloradosparkyred@yahoo.com or 763-486-9886. It is really a fun thing to do. Hope to see you on the Minne-HA-Ha… ha ha ha ha (its an inside joke!).
